Fixed Teeth in Just One Day with All-on-4 Treatment in Chelmsford, Essex
Thanks to revolutionary advances in dental implant technology it is now possible to get a new set of fixed teeth in a day. In some circumstances, you come in at 9am and can leave as early as 2pm with a set of new fixed teeth!
All-On-4 (sometimes referred to as ‘teeth now’ or ‘teeth in a day’) is a popular dental implant technique that enables patients to have a full arch of teeth replaced in just one day.
Are you sick of feeling insecure or upset because of missing teeth? Are you tired of dealing with the common problems associated with traditional dentures such as problems chewing or eating out in restaurants with your friends? Do you have to choose your food carefully to avoid embarrassment? If so, then ‘all-on-4’ could be the perfect treatment for you, restoring your smile quickly and conveniently, leaving you with a secure, durable and natural-feeling brand new set of teeth to be proud of.
All-On-4 Compared To Single Implants
You can have individual missing teeth replaced with single implants for the most effective dental restoration treatment. However, this can be very expensive and lengthy if missing many teeth, and may require extensive bone grafting. With all-on-4 you typically only need 4-6 implants in total to support an entire arch of teeth. This is because the system utilises a special system where we angle implants in a way that makes them strong enough to support the full arch of replacement teeth.
Key Benefits Of All-On-4 Include:
- Cheaper than single individual implants.
- Quicker than an entire arch being replaced with single implants.
- Minimises treatment time.
- We can sometimes avoid the need for bone grafting.
- Easy, often same-day treatment.
- The tooth root is replaced, slowing jawbone loss.
- Enables the smile to be fully functional again.
- No denture slippage.
How All-On-4 Works
With all-on-4 there are four to six implants used for each arch of missing teeth. The implants are made from titanium, and sometimes additional metals for increased strength. It works because of the special angled implants which are designed to be secure enough to support a full arch of replacement teeth. The treatment has also been specially designed to help those without the bone density required for single implants, to have the treatment they need to restore their smile. Even if some bone grafting is required for treatment, it will be minimal because of the special all-on-4 design.
The ideal candidates for this treatment are patients:
- With full/ partial dentures or multiple failing teeth.
- With many missing teeth.
- With crowns and bridges that repeatedly fail.
- Teeth lost due to periodontal gum disease or tooth decay.
The All-on-4 Treatment Process
The treatment process always begins with an extensive consultation to ensure the treatment is right for you. We want to discuss your expectations, the cost of treatment, the time involved and the healing implications to ensure the treatment is going to work well for you. We will also check your jawbone condition to ensure that your oral health below the gum line is adequate. We will perform diagnostics, such as a CT scan to look at the implant placement areas in detail.
Once you agree to a treatment plan we can complete further preparation work before arranging the day of treatment with you. This will include achieving good oral health before starting the treatment.
2. Treatment Day
On the day of treatment we will provide sedation if it is something that has been pre-arranged (we will discuss this with you during your consultation). We will then apply a local anaesthetic to completely numb the area and extract any teeth that require removal. Your mouth will then be completely cleaned and prepared for implant placement.
Once your mouth is ready, we gently place your implants carefully before adding your replacement teeth. You will then be given detailed aftercare instructions and dates to come back to check the healing progress of the implants. Once the implants are fully healed, your treatment and new smile will be complete!
3. All-On-4 Treatment Aftercare
It is normal to have minor bruising, swelling and some slight discomfort following your all-on-4 treatment with us. You should also expect a small adjustment period because you have a new device in your mouth, which is a sensitive area.
During this time, healing is extremely important and so we will give you detailed aftercare instructions to follow. These instructions will also ensure your implants are as comfortable as possible during this time.
