Dr Sherif Elsharkawy is a Consultant and Specialist Prosthodontist and a Senior Clinical Lecturer in Prosthodontics at King’s College London and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. He combines consultant-led clinical care with specialist training and research, bringing an evidence-based, meticulous approach to complex restorative and implant dentistry.
Biography
Clinically, Dr Elsharkawy has a special interest in dental implants, full-arch rehabilitation, digital workflows, and advanced prosthodontics, managing complex functional and aesthetic cases with a strong focus on predictability and long-term outcomes.
He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate dentists, including those training to become specialists in Prosthodontics, and is actively involved in implant education and mentoring for general dentists.
Alongside his clinical and teaching roles, he remains research-active in enamel regeneration and biomaterials, with work published in leading scientific journals and featured by major UK media outlets including BBC, The Telegraph, and The Times.
Outside the clinic, Dr Elsharkawy enjoys travelling, staying active through gym and home workouts, and maintaining a lifestyle that values balance as much as discipline. He also appreciates good music and good company, believing that clarity, focus, and energy matter just as much outside dentistry as they do within it.
