Modern, Clear Braces For Adults And Teenagers In Chelmsford, Essex
Blue Sky Dental is proud to offer invisible braces; modern teeth straightening techniques for patients who would like a discreet alternative to traditional orthodontics. Invisible braces are painless, non-invasive and in most cases, almost entirely invisible to others.
There are several systems available such as Invisalign, Inman Aligner and Damon Clear and we can discuss which system we feel is best for you during your consultation with us. All of these systems use sophisticated 3D modelling technology to create clear braces that are a bespoke fit for the patient and all use a gentle process to slowly move the teeth into the correct position.
Whether you're a teenager looking for a more discreet way to achieve a straight smile, or you're an adult who has always put off straightening your teeth because you don't want your speech or appearance affected, invisible braces can help you get the beautiful straight smile you deserve.
How Invisible Brace Treatment Works
If you are interested in straightening your teeth, you might wish to consider our discreet invisible brace options.
More discreet than traditional orthodontics using wires and brackets, invisible braces use clear aligners to gently move the teeth into position. By using this gentle straightening process we can help patients achieve the straight smile they deserve, without unwanted side-effects like sore gums which are a common issue with wire-based braces. The fact that the aligners are clear means that there is no need for anybody to know you are in the process of straightening your smile. You can date, go to work, socialise and smile without anybody knowing you have aligners in. For additional comfort and convenience the aligners can be taken out for eating meals and when cleaning your teeth.

Your Suitability For Treatment
Invisible braces are not suitable for every patient. Mostly, they are suitable for young adults and adults with mild orthodontic problems such as mild to moderate misalignment, minimal gaps and minor rotation.
Invisible aligners are sometimes used following the treatment of active gum disease or dental decay, or following more intricate orthodontic work. Invisible braces may also feature as part of a larger smile makeover plan along with other cosmetic treatments.
In all instances we offer a detailed consultation to ensure that we offer you the most effective treatment for your needs. We will only offer you treatments we know will ensure you get the best possible results.
How The Invisible Brace System Works
You will come to our Chelmsford clinic for a consultation with the dentist. We want to hear about your expectations, your concerns and we want to answer any questions you may have. We will review your current oral health condition, checking for any issues we need to correct before straightening can go ahead, such as tooth decay or gum disease.
We will then assess whether you require a more detailed straightening treatment using traditional braces. Based on all the information we gather during your consultation we can let you know if you are suitable for invisible braces. We will provide you with a detailed plan for treatment, including transparent pricing. Once this is agreed, we will take moulds of your teeth and book you in for your next appointment.
Using the moulds of your teeth, next we produce an accurate digital image of your smile showing how it will look at each stage of treatment. The technology enables us to create bespoke aligners for you and so when you're happy with the demonstration, we can go ahead and have your invisible braces made.
We will get in touch with you when your invisible braces have been made and are ready for you to collect. Once you receive them you'll be wearing them at least 20 hours a day, only removing them for eating meals or cleaning your teeth. Every couple of weeks or so we will ask you to come and collect a new set of aligners where we will check your progress and ensure any adjustments are made.
Once the treatment is complete there is a final adjustment stage which allows us to achieve the best possible results. We may ask you to wear some extra invisible aligners for a short time, just to ensure the teeth are in exactly the right position.
The final stage of treatment looks into the future of your smile. You've spent a long time getting your teeth in the perfect position, and unfortunately it is unlikely to stay that way without some help. For that reason we recommend retainers. You can opt for removable retainers or permanent retainers depending on your preference. Our Chelmsford invisible brace advisors will discuss both options with you so that you can make the best decision for your smile long-term.
Inman Aligners
Inman Aligners are another effective straightening treatment designed to straighten the front 4 to 6 teeth quickly and efficiently. Blue Sky Dental offers Inman Aligners as a really good, discreet alternative to invisible braces.
The aligner uses a removable device with metal coil springs which power two opposing bows. This system gently moves the teeth into position in as little as a few weeks, although treatment can take up to 18 weeks. Just like invisible braces, Inman Aligners can be removed for easy teeth cleaning and eating. You wear the device for around 16-20 hours a day and you will have check-ups every few weeks at our Chelmsford clinic to ensure that the treatment is working as it should.
If you would like effective, discreet teeth straightening we can discuss the best options for treatment during a consultation in our Chelmsford clinic. Simply call our team to book your consultation!
