Treating Misaligned Teeth At Blue Sky Dental with Cfast braces
The use of orthodontics when just a few teeth are crooked.
It is far from unusual to have teeth which are relatively even overall, but with just the odd tooth or two not in its correct position. This problem can have a significant effect on a person’s smile and may cause them to be more wary of smiling or laughing naturally.
To straighten any number of teeth requires the use of orthodontics, or dental braces; however this does not mean that you have a mouth full of highly visible metal wiring as was often the case with traditional teeth straightening devices.
Cosmetic dental braces
Modern cosmetic braces are made to be less visible than older style braces and some are barely visible at all. There are different styles too, with some retaining the same method of traditional braces, using wires and brackets but in natural tooth colours, whilst others, such as Invisalign, use a series of clear trays that fit over the teeth.
Clear aligners, such as Invisalign are generally used for more extensive teeth straightening, including when the patient requires the rear teeth straightened as well. For Chelmsford patients seeking only a cosmetic improvement to their smile, we would certainly evaluate using Cfast dental braces as an option to correct this.
Cfast is a relatively new orthodontic system which came into being in 2009 but has been growing in popularity ever since. It is one of a generation of truly cosmetic orthodontics in that it works by focusing solely on the front six top and bottom teeth that people generally see when we smile. Because it focuses on these teeth alone, it can produce much faster results than those that straighten all of the teeth; the rear teeth being more difficult to reposition. The time taken for it to work will vary from patient to patient, depending on the severity of the misalignment. Your Blue Sky dentist will advise you of the approximate length of time it will take during your consultation.
Cfast can be used for both adults and teenagers and can treat a variety of misalignment issues including crooked, crossed, crowded teeth or where there are gaps between the teeth. Using a system of near invisible wires and brackets, it also offers a very discreet way to straighten your teeth and should be barely visible to those around you.
Our highly experienced Chelmsford dentists will make regular checks on the progress of your treatment and also make any adjustments necessary, and, after a few months, when the treatment is completed, the braces will be removed and you will be left with a nice even set of teeth and a great smile.
