Smooth, Fill and Erase

Successfully fighting the signs of ageing

The signs of ageing effect us all at some point. The odd line here, maybe a wrinkle there, if only we could prevent these tell tale signs. Well actually we can! As the title states we can smooth, fill and erase these lines making them disappear.

Botox and dermal fillers are the perfect solution for fixing lines and wrinkles.  They can also be used for other purposes too!

Botox works by paralysing the muscles stopping lines from appearing, giving a smoother appearance.  The main areas treated with Botox are the forehead, frown and around the eyes (commonly known as the crows feet).  It can also be used to improve a gummy smile.  The solution is injected along the top lip.  This stops the muscle from lifting the lip when you smile improving the gummy smile look.

The treatment will only last about 3-4 months and after this time will gradually start to dissolve away, meaning that the lines and wrinkles start to become apparent again.  When this happens you simply have the treatment again.  Some patients prefer not to wait for the Botox to wear off and come for regular top up appointments every 2 months or so.  To assist the Botox’s affect to the muscles, we ask you to carry out some facial exercises on the day after treatment.

Not everyone is suitable for Botox.  The professional carrying out the treatment will go through your medical history and decide whether you are a suitable candidate.

Botox is also fantastic for migraine sufferers.

Dermal Fillers

As the title states, dermal fillers can smooth, fill and erase.  They can also plump, define and contour areas including your lips and cheeks!  This treatment lasts much longer than Botox with some patients enjoying the effects for up to 18 months.  Having the treatment can be a little uncomfortable depending on the area being treated.  For this reason we use a product that contains a local anaesthetic, gradually making the area numb as treatment progresses.  If your lips are being treated we can numb your mouth like we would when having dental treatment.

The dermal filler we choose to use contains hyaluronic acid, a product found naturally in our body.  As we age the amount of hyaluronic acid in our body decreases and by the time you are 50 years old, you have already lost 50% of it.  This is why the overall appearance of your face changes.  By having dermal fillers you are simply replacing the lost hyaluronic acid back into your skin.

Botox and fillers can greatly improve your appearance and be a huge boost to your confidence, so long as the treatment is carried out by a trained professional using certified products.  At Blue Sky Dental we can guarantee this.  Why not call us today 01245 211040.
